Online vehicle auction and salvage remarketing giant Copart, Inc. has announced the promotion of Jane Pocock to Global President, effective August 1, 2026. The executive appointment comes amid a broader leadership transition at the Texas-based multinational corporation.
Pocock joined Copart in January 2019 as the Managing Director of Copart UK, later expanding her oversight to encompass operations throughout the British Isles and Ireland. Under her tenure, the UK and Ireland business lines underwent significant infrastructure growth, scaling operational capacity and implementing data-driven, technology-led services for insurance carriers and commercial consignors. Prior to entering the automotive remarketing space with Copart, Pocock served as Chief Executive Officer of Vans Direct, a major commercial vehicle retailer in the United Kingdom.
Pocock’s elevation is part of a structural reorganization at Copart’s highest executive tier:
- CEO Transition: Outgoing Chief Executive Officer and Director Jeff Liaw will officially step down from his role on July 31, 2026, concluding a decade of leadership as CFO, President, and CEO. Liaw will remain with the company as a special advisor to ensure continuity during the leadership transition.
- Return of Jay Adair: Jay Adair, Copart’s current Executive Chairman and former long-time CEO, will resume the position of Chief Executive Officer on July 31, 2026.
“Jane has delivered outstanding results while building strong teams and strengthening our culture,” stated Adair regarding the promotion. “For our insurance customers and their policyholders, commercial sellers, and members, Jane brings immediate experience leading customer-focused growth at scale. Her promotion reflects both the strength of our UK and Ireland business and the opportunity to extend that proven leadership across Copart globally.”
Market Footprint & Logistics Overview
The incoming leadership team inherits a highly scaled digital salvage ecosystem that acts as a primary operational funnel for the international collision repair and recycling sectors:
| Operational Metric | Global Scale Baselines |
| Global Footprint | 250+ physical locations across 11 countries |
| Annual Transaction Volume | 4.0+ million units sold globally over the past fiscal year |
| Bidding Network | ~1 million registered members in more than 185 countries |
| Canadian Infrastructure | Active salvage processing hubs in Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec |
Operational Takeaways for Collision Repair and Salvage Managers
For collision repair networks, insurance adjusters, and automotive recycling operations, structural changes at Copart directly impact downstream total-loss logistics and parts procurement:
- Global Technology Standardization: Pocock’s promotion signals Copart’s intent to scale the digital, technology-enabled customer portals proven out in the UK across its entire global platform. Total-loss vehicle tracking, vehicle intake processing, and automated documentation workflows are expected to see stricter cross-border software integration.
- Salvage Capacity and Cycle Times: With total-loss frequencies heavily influenced by complex ADAS sensors and expensive EV battery constraints, the efficiency of salvage clear-out networks directly dictates a shop’s administrative keys-to-keys window. An optimized global auction clearing process reduces storage gridlock at shop yards.
- Alternative Parts Availability: As global auction pipelines are harmonized under unified leadership, secondary green and recycled assemblies become more accessible to MSOs tracking strictly against key performance metrics like alternative parts utilization percentages.
